Suzanne Friday is the principal and founder of Friday Interior Design, a full-service interior design firm based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
For twenty-seven years, Friday Interior Design has established a strong reputation for creating beautiful and timeless designs in the Pittsburgh area and beyond. From the American Ambassador’s residence in Helsinki, Finland to houses in Aspen and Southampton — Suzanne continuously works to enhance the natural beauty of her projects, creating interiors that are welcoming, personal and elegant. She takes risks and uses her own home as a laboratory to test her creative vision (Exhibit A: cloaking the primary bedroom in glossy magenta paint). Suzanne inherited her love for antiques and art from her mother and former business-partner, Anne Genter (founder of Friday & Genter Interior Design) who is widely respected for her depth of knowledge in the decorative arts and American period furniture.
As former vice president of interiors at LD Astorino architecture group, Suzanne uses her extensive knowledge to make interior design choices that are creative, yet contextual with the architectural parameters of the house for a cohesive and considered result. She loves to see her clients and their families reflected in her completed designs and is never afraid to play with color.

Lily friday

Suzanne’s daughter, Lily Friday is the latest addition to Friday Interior Design, making the firm three generations strong! Based in Atlanta, Lily heads up the Southeastern branch of our business, with projects in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and beyond. With design in her blood and a refined eye, plus three years of professional interior design work under her belt, Lily brings a fresh, stylized and playful perspective to her work as an interior designer. Her personal design style is eclectic, layered and focused on contrast (balancing modern and traditional, creating schemes with brightness and depth, neutral and saturated colors and mixing high-end with accessible selections for a curated look that suits each client’s space. Together, Lily and Suzanne challenge each other’s creativity beyond the traditional scope—aligning their mutual passion and inspiration to take Friday Interior Design and its projects to the next level.

Friday Interior Design offers multiple levels of service from individual room projects and design consulting to new construction and full-scale renovations. Friday Interior Design has twenty-seven years of experience in the interior design realm—with the resources and relationships that accrue with such history. Together, Suzanne and Lily welcome and enjoy the opportunity to collaborate with local architects on restorations, new construction, and one-of-a-kind projects.
